Update on First use issue: 

Following our last update, we wanted to share more information regarding the "stall" issue. Based on our available data,  49 backers experienced the 'stall' issue and were able to correct it, with help from our support team and the Facebook community (thank you!). 18 backers were unable to correct it and we have sent replacement Spärkel Systems to them. Hey backers! 

As the first Spärkel Systems are starting to arrive at your doors, we are very excited to share some updates on shipping and availability. 

But first, we want to share a quick PSA. The feedback from backers that have received and used their Spärkel has been fantastic, but we have seen a first use issue affecting 3 backers.

First Use Heads-up: 

We have seen 3 incidences of this issue from the orders sent this week. We wanted to share how to easily fix this issue in case you experience it. It’s also easily corrected and should not happen again once corrected.

The issue:

On first use, once the Spärkel system starts, the users saw the flow of bubbles into the bottle stop and their bottle was not carbonated.

Diagnosis: 

It appears that a hot shipping journey across the ocean caused some of the Spärkel System’s bottom spigot valves to be stuck. 

First, it’s important to note that the issue has been diagnosed by our engineering team and does not pose a safety risk. Any excess pressure in the system is released via the internal pressure relief valve.

The silicone on the bottom spigot valve became sticky after a hot journey over the ocean and it is not opening properly once the bottle is inserted. If the valve is closed or partially closed during the cycle the CO2 gas (bubbles) won't cycle through the system. Because the gas can’t enter the bottle, the gas exits from the pressure relief valve and will not carbonate the bottle. 

Once the valve gets opened (by pushing the bottle down during the carbonation cycle) and slightly wet (from water from the bottle) this allows the silicone to function properly and permanently fixes the issue. We’re also working to make sure that all units can handle the shipping heat going forward.

How to Fix: 

If you notice the bubbles do not flow or stop flowing into the bottle, push down on the bottle to unstick the valve and open it.

If the bubbles stop again, lift the handle to end the cycle. Try again with a new carbonator and hold and press the bottle down if you see the bubbles stop.  If this solution does not work for you, please contact us.

Thank you to our backers for quickly letting us know of any issues you experience and sharing as much rich information as you can - your videos were particularly helpful. Your sharing helps us to learn and address issues in a timely way. Thank you again!

Shipping: 

Container 2 & 3 arrived sooner than planned, which led us to make a change to the shipping order.

In order to make things as efficient as possible, orders will be shipped in the following categories:

Canadian Orders:

Canadian orders with only Spärkel Systems (without Spärkel Bottles or Spärkel Carbonators) have been shipping since Tuesday. ? 

Canadian orders containing extra bottles and carbonators have started shipping today and will be done tomorrow. ?

U.S. Orders: 

All U.S orders will be shipped on Tuesday (29th) and Wednesday (30th) next week. There was a small delay for U.S orders due to the carbonators being held up at customs. The majority of the carbonators have now been cleared and simply need to be packed up with the appliances.

Hey Backers,  

We are extremely excited to announce that the time has finally come. Spärkel appliances have landed in North America and are about to be sent to you!

Here's the status:

- The Bottle 2-Packs and container 1 (Black, White & Silver systems) are ready to go.

- Containers 2 & 3 (colors and additional black & white systems) are in North America and on their way to our warehouse.

- Carbonator 90 packs are almost at our doorstep. They will arrive in the next few days.

This means we will be shipping black, white and Silver appliances early next week (Oct 20th) and color appliance within the following week (Oct 28th)!

So, if you've ordered a black, white, or silver system, you should expect to receive a tracking number next week via email. 

If you've ordered a color appliance, you should expect your tracking number in the week of Oct 20th. 

Please note that Appliances, Carbonators 90-Packs and Bottle 2-Packs will be shipped together. 

Thank you for your enthusiasm and patience throughout this campaign. As we prepare to ship we are now becoming very excited to see the delicious Spärkeling drinks you create!

We will be sharing some tips, tricks and recipe ideas as we send the appliances, so stay tuned next week.

Hey Backers, 

Your Spärkel systems are getting closer. We are excited to share an update on their status!

Delivery Update

All 3 containers containing your orders left our production facility and are making their way to North America.  Which means we are getting close to delivery! 

As we've mentioned before, those of you who ordered white, black and silver systems will receive your units first, with colors following a few weeks later. 

White, Black, and Silver:

The white, black and silver systems will be arriving in North America in the next week and take one to two weeks to get to our fulfillment center. So you should expect a tracking code in the week following October 15th, and to receive your order a few days after.

Metallic Red - Metallic Blue - Seafoam - Pink: 

The second container, full of colored systems,  left our facility early last week and is on the water! It will be landing in North America in the last week of October. At which point your systems will get to our fulfillment center within two weeks and to you a few days later. 

Extra bottles are ready: 

The extra bottles (made and assembled in North America) are ready to go! For those who ordered the additional bottles,  they will be coming along with your Spärkel Systems.

Heads-up! Survey & Backer-Kit Upgrade

Thank you to everyone who completed their survey. As you know, the orders are now locked. We will be charging the credit cards for the additional Backer-Kit purchases in 2 days. If you purchased upgrade items, you should expect a charge on your credit card with "Sparkel Bev Systems" as the statement descriptor. 

If you haven't received your survey, please let us know as soon as possible.

Build Quality

In addition to all regular production testing, we have tested 90 'pilot' units that were made prior to regular production and sent to our Toronto office for media placement. These were the first systems that made the ocean journey between our production facility and North America. Out of the 90, 86 performed flawlessly - a 96% success rate. Of the 4 issues, two were minor cosmetic imperfections and two were known operating issues that were addressed prior the start of regular Indiegogo unit production. Know that our goal is 100% quality, but the real world means that if there is a problem, we're ready to make sure that everyone has a great experience with their Spärkel!

New Recipes: 

We are extremely excited for everyone to get their Spärkel Systems. As our Facebook and Instagram followers already know, we've been coming with new recipes. Here are a few of them for you to get your taste buds ready! 

Hibiscus Iced Tea.

A tasty herbal, fruity and sweet sparkling iced tea. 
- Half orange sliced (cut in quarters)
- 3 Strawberries (sliced)
- 1 Hibiscus Tea Bag

Pineapple Sparkling  Coconut Water

A refreshing drink to re-live your favorite summer days!

- 5 small squares of pineapple
- 250 ml of coconut water
- Fill the bottle with cold water

Sparling Apple Pie

A spicy and comforting sparkling infusion to get ready for the holidays.

- 1 apple
- 1 plum
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- Optional: Spoonful of Maple syrup

Hello Backers!

After months of hard work, we have a very exciting update to share:

The First Spärkel Container is on the Ocean!

Following our last update, the engineering team worked relentlessly to get the production line running to produce the first Spärkel appliances. All their work culminated in the first container of Spärkel systems leaving the production facility this morning!

This first container is filled with Black, White and Silver systems. These will be the first colors to arrive in North America, scheduled for the week of October 8th. These will then be delivered to you.

The next container will set sail within the next two weeks and include the Metallic Red, Metallic Blue, Seafoam, and Pink systems.

You will receive a shipping tracking number once the systems arrive at our North American warehouses.

We are happy to have shipped the first systems from the production facility in August, although later in the month than initially expected. The production delay was unfortunate and the team has taken the extra time to complete incremental testing to ensure that the changes were implemented properly.  It was essential to ensure that the quality and performance met our (and your!) expectations. We are working hard to get your Spärkel into your hands as soon as possible while always keeping in mind our performance expectations.

We are excited to start shipping and we can’t wait to see what you make!
